5f938fffa6 fix(http1): return 414 when URI contains more than 65534 characters (#2706)
Previous behavior returned a 404 Bad Request. Conforms to HTTP 1.1 RFC.

842c6553a5 feat(server): add HTTP/1 header read timeout option (#2675)
Adds `Server::http1_header_read_timeout(Duration)`. Setting a duration will determine how long a client has to finish sending all the request headers before trigger a timeout test. This can help reduce resource usage when bad actors open connections without sending full requests.

Closes #2457

0a4b56acb8 feat(lib): Export more things with Cargo features [server, !http1, !http2]
* server::Server
* server::conn::{AddrIncoming, AddrStream}

This allows higher-level libraries to use or re-export more parts of the
API without deciding for the end user which HTTP versions the hyper
server will support.

52214f391c fix(client): retry when pool checkout returns closed HTTP2 connection (#2585)
When http2_only is true, we never try to open a new connection if there
is one open already, which means that if the existing connection that
gets checked out of the pool is closed, then the request won't happen.

960a69a587 feat(error): add Error::is_parse_too_large and Error::is_parse_status methods (#2538)
The discussion in #2462 opened up some larger questions about more comprehensive approaches to the
error API, with the agreement that additional methods would be desirable in the short term. These
methods address an immediate need of our customers, so I would like to get them in first before we
flesh out a future solution.

One potentially controversial choice here is to still return `true` from `is_parse_error()` for
these variants. I hope the naming of the methods make it clear that the new predicates are
refinements of the existing one, but I didn't want to change the behavior of `is_parse_error()`
which would require a major version bump.

9a8413d910 feat(http2): add HTTP2 keep-alive support for client and server
This adds HTTP2 keep-alive support to client and server connections
based losely on GRPC keep-alive. When enabled, after no data has been
received for some configured interval, an HTTP2 PING frame is sent. If
the PING is not acknowledged with a configured timeout, the connection
is closed.

Clients have an additional option to enable keep-alive while the
connection is otherwise idle. When disabled, keep-alive PINGs are only
used while there are open request/response streams. If enabled, PINGs
are sent even when there are no active streams.

For now, since these features use `tokio::time::Delay`, the `runtime`
cargo feature is required to use them.

271bba1667 refactor(error): improve organization of Error kinds
- Placed all cases of "unexpected bytes" errors into the
  `UnexpectedMessage` variant.
- Placed all cases of "unexpected EOF" errors into the
  `IncompleteMessage` variant. Description is now generic about
  "connection closed before message completed", instead of mentioning
  "request" or "response.
- Added `Error::is_incomplete_message()` accessor to help checking for
  unexpected closures.
- Renamed some variants to be clearer when viewing the `Debug` format.
- Collected all "user" errors into an internal `User` enum, to prevent
  forgetting to update the `is_user()` method.

2a3844acc3 feat(client): enable CONNECT requests through the Client
While the upgrades feature enabled HTTP upgrades in both and the server and client, and the goal was for `CONNECT` requests to work as well, only the server could use them for `CONNECT`. The `Client` had some specific code rejecting `CONNECT` requests, and this removes it and prepares the `Client` to handle them correctly.

482a5f589e fix(lib): return an error instead of panic if execute fails
If executing an internal task fails, a new variant of `hyper::Error` is

logging a warning.

fea29b29e2 feat(http1): Add higher-level HTTP upgrade support to Client and Server (#1563)
- Adds `Body::on_upgrade()` that returns an `OnUpgrade` future.
- Adds `hyper::upgrade` module containing types for dealing with
  upgrades.
- Adds `server::conn::Connection::with_upgrades()` method to enable
  these upgrades when using lower-level API (because of a missing
  `Send` bound on the transport generic).
- Client connections are automatically enabled.
- Optimizes request parsing, to make up for extra work to look for
  upgrade requests.
  - Returns a smaller `DecodedLength` type instead of the fatter
    `Decoder`, which should also allow a couple fewer branches.
  - Removes the `Decode::Ignore` wrapper enum, and instead ignoring
    1xx responses is handled directly in the response parsing code.

d127201ef2 feat(rt): make tokio runtime optional
A Cargo feature `runtime` is added, which is enabled by default, that
includes the following:

- The `client::HttpConnector`, which uses `tokio::net::TcpStream`.
- The `server::AddrStream`, which uses `tokio::net::TcpListener`.
- The `hyper::rt` module, which includes useful utilities to work with
  the runtime without needing to import `futures` or `tokio` explicity.

Disabling the feature removes many of these niceties, but allows people
to use hyper in environments that have an alternative runtime, without
needing to download an unused one.
